New generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire coming to India by March 2017

Technology Talks - Maruti Suzuki will soon introduce a new generation Dzire in India most likely by March 2017.

According to a report in ET Auto, Maruti Suzuki will soon introduce a new generation Dzire in India most likely by March 2017. Maruti Suzuki will also stop the sales of the current generation Dzire Tour to make way for the new Dzire.

"The carmaker will stop production of the Dzire Tour to make way for the new Dzire expected to be launched around March," one of the sources told ET Auto.

According to the report, Maruti Suzuki has commenced with the plan to stop the production of the Dzire Tour. After the launch of the new generation Dzire, Maruti will introduce a striped down version of the new Dzire for the fleet segment.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki sells around 3000 units of the Dzire Tour in a month.

In recent weeks, Maruti Suzuki also stopped the production of the Ritz in India, hinting that the company might have something in store for 2017. The move also could be initiated to accommodate the increasing the waiting period of the Baleno and the Vitara Brezza. Both the cars have been the top sellers for the company since its launch.
As of yet, Maruti Suzuki has not disclosed any details of this new generation Dzire. Maruti Suzuki also has the Ignis, Baleno RS and the all new Swift in the pipe-line for 2017.

Moreover, we recently reported that Maruti Suzuki expects to receive around 10,000 units of premium hatchback Baleno this fiscal from the upcoming Gujarat plant of its parent Suzuki that will start production from early next year.

"The whole project (Gujarat) is on schedule. We will be selling cars from made in Gujarat from February. That remains, there is no change in that. During this financial year about 10,000 cars from Gujarat will be produced and delivered to us for sale," MSI Chairman R C Bhargava said.

Suzuki will supply vehicles and components exclusively to MSI from the plant. India is the biggest market for Suzuki, which owns 56 per cent of Maruti Suzuki India - the country's biggest automaker controlling nearly half of the market.
MSI's two units at Gurgaon and Manesar have a total production capacity of 1.5 million units annually.
