The Turkish facility of Hyundai at Izmit will be the key export hub to European markets for the new i20 Hyundai Motor Company has had a string of launches already this year, not just in India but all around the world. Even though much of its launch schedule has been eaten up by the global Covid-19 pandemic, the company is still moving ahead with its future developmental programs.

Hyundai India 

As far as India is concerned, Hyundai is gearing up for the launch of its next-generation i20 which is expected to be launched later this year. The premium hatchback has been in development for a long time now and has been spotted testing on Indian roads on numerous occasions. Indian i20 will be produced at company’s Chennai plant, and is expected to have even higher production rate of i20 as compared to Turkey plant. i20 is one of the best selling cars in India. Post launch, Hyundai could be aiming to sell about 10,000 units per month in the domestic market. While they will also produce i20 for exports to many countries in South East Asia, Africa and South America. Upon its launch in India, 2020 i20 will lock horns with other premium hatchbacks such as Tata Altroz, Maruit Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo.

Apple is launching an iPhone 12 Mini

The smallest iPhone 12 model is going to get ‘mini’ name, as per leaks. The “mini” naming scheme isn’t new. Apple has been using it for years for its popular devices like the iPad Mini, iPod Mini and Mac Mini.

We wouldn’t be surprised if Apple adopts the “mini” name for the smallest iPhone in the iPhone 12 lineup. There’s a large set of consumers who want an iPhone with smaller screen size. Yes, Apple already sells the small iPhone SE in the market but its design is already dated. For consumers who want a flagship iPhone with smaller 5.4-inch screen size, the iPhone 12 Mini could be an ideal option.

The iPhone 12 Mini won’t be cheap

For the first time, Apple will launch 5G iPhones this year. However, many believe that the iPhone 12 Mini is likely to be a 4G-only model. While nothing has been confirmed just yet, but a 4G-only model makes a lot of sense. With devices like iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max could cost $100 more due to the superfast 5G connectivity, Apple needs a flagship iPhone that caters to the mainstream crowd.

Analysts believe that the iPhone 12 Mini could start at $699. For reference, the iPhone 11 started at $699 when it was released in September 2019. And let’s not forget that Apple already has the 4G-only iPhone SE in the market, which starts at $399.

The iPhone 12 Mini will be powered by A14 chipset

The ‘budget’ iPhone 12 Mini will be cased in aluminium and will arrive with the latest Apple silicon- the A14 Bionic chipset. The phone will come with an OLED screen, a dual-camera setup, smaller notch and an iPad Pro-like design with flatter edges. Ming-Chi Kuo claims that none of the models come packaged with a charger. That will be sold separately.

When will be the iPhone 12 Mini launch?

We don’t know the official launch date yet, but in the last few days, multiple reports have claimed that the iPhone 12 event is for October 13. The iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 will likely go on sale towards the end of October and the Pro models will seemingly go on sale sometime in November.

Samsung Galaxy M11, M01 to be launched on June 2

Samsung's upcoming affordable phones, the Galaxy M11 and Galaxy M01, will be launched in India at 12pm on June 2, according to a now-removed Flipkart teaser page.

The Galaxy M11, unveiled in March, comes as an upgrade to the M10s while the M01 seems to be the latest entry-level handset in the country from the South Korean tech giant.

Samsung Galaxy M11: The jack of all trades

The Samsung Galaxy M11 sports an edge-to-edge screen with a punch-hole cut-out. It has a 6.4-inch TFT display with an HD+ (720x1560 pixels) resolution and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 450 chipset, coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage.

Moreover, it runs Android 10-based One UI 2.0 and packs a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast-charging support.

The Galaxy M11 has a 13MP triple rear camera

The M11 sports a triple rear camera setup, comprising a 13MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, a 5MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. On the front, it has a single 8MP (f/2.0) selfie snapper.

Samsung Galaxy M01: The affordable handset

The Samsung Galaxy M01 is likely to bear a waterdrop notched design and pack a 5.7-inch TFT display with an HD+ (720x1560 pixels) resolution. It may miss out on a physical fingerprint reader.

Under the hood, the handset is tipped to draw power from Snapdragon 439 chipset, coupled with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 4,000mAh battery.

The M01 is expected to offer a dual rear-camera setup

The Galaxy M01 is expected to come with a dual rear-camera setup comprising a 13MP (f/2.2) primary sensor and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth camera with LED flash. On the front, a single 5MP (f/2.2) selfie shooter is likely to be present.

What about the pricing?

The Samsung Galaxy M11 is expected to carry a price-tag of Rs. 10,999 for the 3GB/32GB version, while the 4GB/64GB variant is expected to cost Rs. 12,999.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy M01 is speculated to cost Rs. 8,999 for the single 3GB/32GB model.

As for availability, the handsets are likely to become available soon after the launch on June 2.
