One more Player in Market from Maruti !
"Maruti Suzuki Ignis"
---------------------
---------------------
The Maruti Suzuki Ignis offers a lot of features which are first in its segment. It will also be the first car from Maruti Suzuki that you'll be able to book online. It's classified as a premium urban compact vehicle and will be retailed through Nexa showrooms. Here's all that we know about the upcoming Ignis.
New lightweight platform :-
The Maruti Suzuki Swift, Dzire and the Ertiga are based on the same platform. However, the upcoming Ignis is based on a completely new platform which is lighter and more rigid. According to Maruti, not only does the lighter platform help save fuel but it also performs well in crash tests. Moreover, the new platform is flexible and can be used in other future products by Maruti.
Safety :-
Maruti wants the Ignis to be ready for the upcoming safety norms in India. The Ignis will come with dual front airbags, ABS and ISOFIX as standard safety equipment. It also meets the side, rear, offset and pedestrian safety regulations.
Full LED headlamps :-
Yes, the Ignis features full LED-powered projector headlamps. Along with an LED setup that performs both high- and low-beam duty. Besides, it will also feature horseshoe shaped LED DRLs. No other car in its segment or two segments above offers LED headlamps.
Ground clearance :-
With a 180mm ground clearance, you don't have to worry about hitting that pothole. The Ignis also has a short wheelbase with short overhangs, which gives it a decent approach and departure angle, making it suitable for Indian roads.
Standard 15-inch wheels :-
Unlike other cars from Maruti Suzuki where only higher variants get alloy wheels, the Ignis will come with Standard 15-inch alloy wheels. The Ignis will feature a new design of alloy wheels, never offered on any Maruti product before. The preview model had 175/65 R15 tyres.
Cosmetic options :-
The dual exterior paint option offered on the Brezza will also be available with the Ignis. While the blue exterior paint variant can have either white or black roof, the red exterior paint variant will only be offered with a black roof. The Ignis will also be available with some wraps for customisation. The blue Ignis on display featured a black roof, blacked out ORVMs and black alloys. Although Maruti plans to offer i-Create package with the Ignis, it will take some time for implementation.
Boot space :-
The Ignis offers a 260-litre boot space, decent enough to accommodate a couple of bags. For the additional extra luggage, the 60:40 split seat option will come handy. However, due to the higher loading lip, it could be a bit difficult to place the luggage.
