Xiaomi is launching a three-day carnival to commemorate its two years in India

Xiaomi is launching a three-day carnival to commemorate its two years in India. Kicking it off on July 20, the Chinese conglomerate looks to conduct a host of contests, announce some temporary price drops and introduce Re.1 flash deals during its Mi 2nd Anniversary carnival.

Beginning with the flash deals, Xiaomi is giving away a host of its devices for just Re. 1 to registered users. On the first day, 10 Xiaomi Mi 5 and 100 Mi Power Bank (20000mAh) will be up for grabs. On July 21, 10 Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and 100 Mi Band (white LED) will be available for flash deals, and on the last day 10 Xiaomi Mi Max and 100 Mi Bluetooth speakers will be up for grabs. The price drop deal is essentially only on its Bluetooth speaker, which will be available for a Rs. 700 discount, and will be priced at Rs. 1,999 for those three days.

There are several app exclusive offers as well. The Xiaomi Mi 5 Gold colour variant is being sold with a free Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro Gold. It managed to sell three million smartphone in just one and a half year from entering the market.

Want Android Nougat? These are only phones you should buy

07:09:00

'Nougat' is the next version of 'Android'

The new version of Android called Nougat is coming. In fact, it is already here in beta version but in the coming two odds months it will also arrive as a full and final update for some of the existing phones.

Smartphones with Android Nougat

...........................
.................................................

Now the keyword here is "some". It won't come on all the Android that you have in the market right now. It will only come to some phones, and that too at a different schedule. So, if you are buying an Android smartphone today, which is the one you should get if you want to taste the sweet sweet Nougat when Google releases it for consumers. Here are the options:

Android Nougat, Android, Android N, Android Phones, Technology Talks, Tech Talks, Tech News, Technology News, Nougat is the next version of Android, Android Nougat phones, Android Nougat Smartphones, Android N Smartphones, Android N Phones

Want Android Nougat? These are only phones you should buy!

Phones guaranteed to get Nougat >>

Huawei Nexus 6P: This is the flagship Android phone right now. It is also an official Google phone and it will definitely get the Android Nougat update, possibly with days of the public launch of the new operating system.

LG Nexus 5X: This is also a current generation Nexus phone and hence will definitely get Nougat update, possibly at the same time when Nexus 6P gets it.

HTC 10, HTC One A9 and HTC One M9: These are high-end HTC phones and they will get the Android Nougat. That much has been confirmed by HTC. But the chances are the updates will be delayed. HTC may take even a few months after the public launch of Android Nougat before it brings the updates to these three phones. Also, HTC 10 will most likely be the first HTC phone to get it.

Not officially confirmed but almost sure >>

Moto G4 Plus: Motorola, which uses almost unmodified version of Android in its phones, and since 2013 has an impeccable record of bringing Android updates is yet to officially confirm which of its phones will get Nougat. But it is almost certain that the Moto G4 Plus will be one of these phones.

Moto G4: If Moto G4 Plus is getting the update, the Moto G4 will also get it. The update are likely to come within weeks of the Nougat launch.

Moto Z phones: These are not yet available but by the time Nougat comes, they will be in the market. The Moto Z phones will also get the Nougat.

Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge: No official confirmation, but just like HTC Samsung will bring Nogat update to the current generation flagship Galaxy phones. Although, just like HTC the company may take a month after Nougat's public launch to bring it to its phones.

Galaxy Note 6: In the coming months, Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 6 -- or is it going to be called the Note 7 -- possibly with Marshmallow because the Nougat may not launch by then. But after that when Nougat update is available, expect Samsung to bring it to the latest Note as soon as it.

LG G5: To match HTC and Samsung, LG is also almost sure to bring the Nougat to the flagship G5 as soon as it can.

Other likely candidates >>

These are older phones but we have a feeling that they will get Android Nougat. These are:

LG Nexus 5:
Old but still gold and that is why Google may give it one last update in the form of Nougat.

Moto X Force & Moto X Style:
Powerful phones and expensive. Motorola may not like to leave in lurch users of these phones.

Moto X Play & Moto G Turbo: Phones with fairly fast hardware, we think these two will also get one.

Other than the phones mentioned here, there will be devices that will eventually get Nougat. For example, we feel the OnePlus 3 will get Nougat and so will many other phones, including some by Lenovo. But the update will come late and will not have the kind of value that it will have for phones that get it promptly.

At the same time, another grim truth is that Nougat will not reach majority of existing phones, including some high-end ones. Now, to a lot of users this may not matter. But if does to you, the phones listed here are the only safe bet if you want to buy a device that will get Android Nougat.

Apple’s iPhone turns nine: 5 ways it’s still better than Android

Technology-talks-iphone-vs-android-iPhone-still-better-then-android-tech-news-smartphones-gadgets-mobile-apple-technology-news-tech-talks-iphone-6s

Apple changed the world nine years ago when it released the first iPhone. It sounds hyperbolic but I assure you, the original iPhone quite literally reshaped the mobile industry. It also changed the way we access information and connect with each other. The giants of the industry at the time have now all but vanished. Android, which was being developed as a terrible BlackBerry copy, was reimagined and released as the platform we now know.

Apple iPhone is still better than Android, See How?

There have been plenty of retrospective pieces covering the iPhone to celebrate its nine-year anniversary, and some have been fairly interesting. But in light of all the negativity currently surrounding Apple’s next-generation iPhone, I thought it might be nice to look at some of the ways Apple’s mobile phone is still far better than its chief rival, Android.
Technology-talks-iphone-vs-android-iPhone-still-better-then-android-tech-news-smartphones-gadgets-mobile-apple-technology-news-tech-talks-android-vs-iphone

iPhone vs Android

..................
.....................

1) User Experience >>

Beginning with the most broad advantage the iPhone and iOS have over Android devices, Apple’s UX is still in a league of its own.

Google has taken tighter control of Android in recent years and we see “pure Android” shine through more and more with each new handset generation. This has had a huge positive impact on the overall Android user experience, which had for a long time been a muddled mess. Even pure Android can’t quite compare to iOS though, which offers levels of simplicity and fluidity that are unmatched.

Tight inter-device integration and proprietary services also add to the experience. Products like iMessage and FaceTime don’t just lock users in, they offer superior quality and consistency. Sharing content between iPhones is also a snap. And if you own multiple Apple devices like an iPhone, iPad and MacBook, Continuity features bring better and tighter integration than you’ll find anywhere else.

Apple controls the hardware and the software experiences so the company is able to offer a product that aligns perfectly with its vision. Rumors suggest Google may finally be working on its own phone, but the company has quite a bit of ground to make up before it can even approach the experience Apple has crafted.

2) Software Updates >>

I wrote just about everything there is to write on this matter earlier this year.

In a nutshell, the open source Android distribution model that led to the platform’s success is also one of its biggest disadvantages. Almost no Android users have access to new updates when they’re released. Instead, they have to wait months or longer before they gain access to the latest features and security updates. Many Android phones will never have access to new releases even after just a couple of years.

The most widely used version of Android in the world right now was released in 2014. And Android Lollipop’s market share (35.4%) is just a few points higher than KitKat (31.6%), which was released all the way back in 2013.

3) Security >>

Apple’s iOS security is an advantage in so many ways. From encryption to general policy, Apple has a very pro-consumer approach to the way it protects its devices and services. And then you have app development and distribution to consider, which are controlled much more tightly by Apple than they are by Google.

There is no question that Android apps have exciting capabilities you won’t be able to enjoy on an iPhone. But all that freedom brings serious risks. Scary new malware that targets the Android platform is discovered on a weekly basis at this point. Meanwhile, as security expert Graham Cluley pointed out in a recent post, iOS hasn’t ever had a major malware incident.

4) Third-Party Apps >>

It’s as true today as it was seven years ago when the App Store first launched: iOS apps are better than Android apps.

“Better” is subjective, so I’ll elaborate. Apple’s stricter guidelines for developers result in a far more consistent user experience across all iOS apps, first- and third-party. They look similar, they’re fast, they’re smooth, and they’re far more reliable than apps on rival platforms. As I’ve written before, the same app from the same top-tier developer will always offer a better experience on an iPhone than it does on an Android phone.

The third-party app ecosystem Apple has created is the main reason I can’t ditch the iPhone and switch to my favorite smartphone, which just happens to be an Android phone.

5) Customer Service and Support >>

Last but certainly not least is customer support, which is an area where Apple has no competition.

When you have a problem with your iPhone, Apple employees do everything they can to fix it. The best experience comes in Apple Stores, where friendly reps work with customers one-on-one to resolve any issues. And if an issue can’t be resolved, the customer walks away with a new iPhone that has already been filled with all of his or her data.

Apple’s phone support is nearly as impressive. In some ways, it’s even more impressive. Phone reps are friendly and patient, and they always do everything they can to resolve any issues and avoid having a device sent in for inspection. Often times you’ll even receive a follow-up call to ensure your issue was resolved and your device is still working properly.

Making a sale is the easy part and Apple knows it. After-sale service is yet another area where Apple shines far brighter than rivals, and it’s one of the main reasons iPhone buyers keep coming back.

Please share with us in comments - what you think which one is better for you, Either iPhone or Android?

7 Android Launchers That Completely Transform The Look of Your Phone

7 Android Launchers That Completely Transform The Look of Your Phone

One of the main differences between Android and iOS is the way you can transform the look of Google’s operating system, down to the very last pixel. Alternative launcher apps re-skin Android, changing not just wallpaper, colors, and icons, but the layout of the interface itself.

It’s also ridiculously easy to return to your default launcher after you’re done experimenting with new ones. To go back to your original home screen, navigate to the Home menu in Settings. From this menu, you can switch between launchers or remove them from your system entirely. With that in mind, here are seven of the best launcher apps available for Android.

Are you bored with your smartphone?

..............................................................

Change the Way Your Phone Looks With Android Launchers

.............................................
.............................................

1) Arrow Launcher >>>>

Technology-talks-tech-news-tech-talks-smartphones-gadgets-7-android-launchers-that-completely-transform-the-look-of-your-phone-Arrow-launcher

The Arrow launcher, created by the folks at Microsoft, re-skins Android to give it a distinctly Windows feel. Links to Bing, Wunderlist, and Office are all front and center, as you would expect, but there are some useful tweaks here that will interest people who aren’t fans of Microsoft as well.

It brings your most-used apps into one convenient screen, for instance, each of which can have iOS-style notification badges, and there’s easy access to both recently accessed files (from texts to photos) and your recent SMS and call interactions. Swipe up from the bottom to reveal a mini control center.

...............................................
...............................................

2) Nova Launcher >>>>

Technology-talks-tech-news-tech-talks-smartphones-gadgets-7-android-launchers-that-completely-transform-the-look-of-your-phone-Nova-Launcher

Nova is one of the oldest and most popular launcher apps, offering a high level of customization for everything from the way that apps scroll to the positioning of icons on the home screen. Upgrade to the paid version to get unread count badges, gesture support, and some more handy extras.

After you’ve installed Nova, it doesn’t look like much has changed, but if you delve into the app’s settings you can introduce a scrolling dock, change the size of icons, change the appearance of folders and more. There’s also a night mode for reducing blue light when you’re using your phone in the evening.

..........................................
..........................................

3) Apex Launcher >>>>

Technology-talks-tech-news-tech-talks-smartphones-gadgets-7-android-launchers-that-completely-transform-the-look-of-your-phone-Apex-Launcher

Apex, another venerable app launcher out there, offers plenty of customization options without bogging you down with too many screens and menus. Most of the changes you’ll see after you’ve installed the app are pretty subtle ones, but there’s plenty to explore once you start digging deeper.

The home screen and app drawer can both be tweaked extensively (think layout, animations, scrolling), and there are a bunch of Apex themes on the Google Play Store to really overhaul Android’s interface. Opt for the paid version to add even more customizations and effects to the mix.

..........................................
..........................................

4) ZenUI Launcher >>>>

Technology-talks-tech-news-tech-talks-smartphones-gadgets-7-android-launchers-that-completely-transform-the-look-of-your-phone-ZenUI-Launcher

ZenUI is the launcher that Asus puts on its own Android phones, but anyone can try it out for free courtesy of the Google Play Store. It’s clean and speedy and offers a variety of useful features, like grouping apps into related folders automatically for you and recommending new apps you might like.

On the home screens, icon sizes and layouts can be tweaked, and it’s possible to change colors and fonts with a couple of taps too. The stylings of ZenUI won’t appeal to everyone, but there are enough functions and features here to satisfy most Android tweakers. Plenty of third-party theme packs are available, too.

...........................................
...........................................

5) Go Launcher >>>>

Technology-talks-tech-news-tech-talks-smartphones-gadgets-7-android-launchers-that-completely-transform-the-look-of-your-phone-Go-Launcher

Revamped for 2016, the Go launcher is piled high with features, tweaks, and themes. There’s a smart apps management system that’s intended to make your favorite apps easier to access, and a separate store to access new themes, wallpapers, and other related material.

The launcher comes with a bunch of snazzy widgets and animation effects to select from, and it’s hard not to like this bright, colorful, customizable approach to Android. The ads can get a little annoying, but they support the app’s development and can be removed with the relevant purchase from inside Go.

...........................................
...........................................

6) Buzz Launcher >>>>

Technology-talks-tech-news-tech-talks-smartphones-gadgets-7-android-launchers-that-completely-transform-the-look-of-your-phone-Buzz-Launcher

Buzz completely revamps the look of the Android interface, providing access to a wealth of theme packs that apply such complete transformations that it’s difficult to believe you’re still using Android at all. Alongside the packs there are all the usual interface tweaks and customizations waiting to be made use of.

There’s gesture support too, so you can swipe up for apps or down for settings, as well as a matching lock screen replacement, so this really is one of the most complete and versatile launchers out there. The app also links to a Buzz custom widget editor you can use to tailor the look of Android even further.

..................................
..................................

7) Aviate Launcher >>>>

Technology-talks-tech-news-tech-talks-smartphones-gadgets-7-android-launchers-that-completely-transform-the-look-of-your-phone-Aviate-Launcher

Aviate, by Yahoo, adds some behind-the-scenes smarts to your Android home screens, grouping related apps together and aiming to surface what you need when you need it without any manual interaction. It’s been well designed too, and comes with hundreds of very nicely done wallpapers to take advantage of.

One of the launcher’s key features is the Smart Stream, a Google Now-style stack of cards bringing you information about the weather, upcoming events, nearby places, various phone features and so on. It’s less about home screen customization and more about useful add-ons to the central mobile OS.
